A friend in the media who knew Senator John McCain says that he never met anybody who hungered to be loved by the media more than McCain did.

In contrast to John McCain, Kim Kardashian is also ambitious to be featured in the media, but she goes about her relentless quest with a self-respect-maintaining degree of skepticism. McCain, tho, combined cooperativeness w/ press w/ a level of ardor that was a bit embarrassing.

Can you imagine how much Trump becoming President rustled McCain's jimmies? To fail to get the nom in 2000 and then fail to become President in 2008 and then to watch this political neophyte New Yorker be preferable in the eyes of the people?

That is basically the conservative disease: wanting nothing more than for liberals and progressives to like them. It's quite a disgusting sight.

he always tried to be funny and off-the-cuff like Reagan, but it didn't work. Reagan didn't care what the media thought, that's all Mccain cared about

Obvious narcissist. Also liked to preen like last moral guy in DC. Similar to Comey. But both were devoted to keeping themselves and their class of parasites in power. Also some legit questions about how much he cooperated with NVA captors and USS Forestal Fire.

He was a VERY different in person from what the media portrayed. If you know anyone who worked with him or his office, they will attest to this.

I can think of one person who hungers to be loved more - by the media and everyone else. And he’s hated by everyone whose respect and adoration he seeks.
