On the U.S. Census, adults self-identify their race (Asian, white, black, Native American, Pacific Islander, etc.) and their Hispanic ethnicity (Hispanic or Non-Hispanic). President Obama chose to self-identified only as black on 2010 Census. https://twitter.com/neoliberal_dad/status/1034883340543975432 …

BTW, I have a great-uncle who was born in Argentina but is 100% Ashkenazi Jewish. Would it be fair game for him to identify as Hispanic if he'll ever move to the U.S.?

Did I oppress Argentinians? Going to have to check my diary.

King Henry VIII divorcing his Spanish wife Katherine of Aragon was deplorable, so you must pay affirmative action privileges in 2018 USA to anybody culturally related to Queen Catarina, like, say, Matthew Yglesias. And Ezra Klein, whose dad was born in Brazil: close enough!

It makes you wonder whether one should go on a vacation to Latin America when one or one's wife is about to give birth. After all, if your child is 100% non-Spanish White but born in Argentina or Uruguay, then that's probably good enough for him or her to get affirmative action.

Thanks for this information! Anyway,
@mattyglesias should certainly get some credit for beginning to identify as Hispanic. That way, he helps increase the avg Hispanic IQ in the US. We should get other Jews with White Hispanic ancestry to do the same.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
