      S. J. Gould did not do well on IQ tests. Why? Because, as he explains (NYRB, 1984), these tests "stress logical reasoning" and he was "hopeless at deductive sequencing". But if he knew his logical skills were meager, how could he trust his own logical reasoning against IQ tests?pic.twitter.com/d6iw8SjHa9

Is it because he was brilliant, and an acknowledged world leading expert on evolutionary science? Just a thought. But don't let that stop you making such a moronic comment, Neven. The idea that intelligence can be reduced to a number based on little tests is idiotic in extremis.

psychologists defining the word 'intelligence' for us is the height of arrogance, The word derives from Latin so has had meaning for thousands of years - much longer than psychology which was only recently invented by a sex obsessed crackpot

"Intelligence" isn't defined; IQ tests aren't construct valid therefore, I argue, they are tests of middle class knowledge, not "intelligence."pic.twitter.com/7kPSRRwWX7

OK, but SJ Gould was about as middle class as you could get.
