i think it must be both. mentioned further down in the article is that they're talking about 2nd generation kids with ancestry from cameroon, congo, guinea, cape verde, senegal, and mali. in my exp, people from senegal are fairly laid back muslims. mali might be a diff story.

oh, good god, yeah. and hugely identifying with the struggle of blacks in the u.s., etc., etc. largely thanks to music, but now the internet, too.

I kinda feel for the minorities in France. It’s hard to make even superficial friendships w/white locals, ppl are not interested in having a token minority friend, the culture is so different from MENA (even for former colonies)...
