I merely graphed the projections of the UN's Department of Economic and Social Affairs in its "World Population Prospects: The 2017 Revision." I encourage you to evaluate the UN's methodology yourself. I'm simply making graphic what the UN is saying. https://www.unz.com/isteve/fear-of-a-black-planet-un-boosts-its-2017-population-forecast-for-africa-in-2100-to-4468000000/ …https://twitter.com/JPdeRuiter/status/1009103938455564289 …

Hey, how did you get the data from past 2018? Did you fit an exponential curve to data before 2018, and assume the actual empirical world out there would follow it?

While this is my graph, the population projection numbers are by no means mine: they are the latest official forecasts released by the United Nations. I'm merely making graphic what the UN is estimating:pic.twitter.com/ZpUfmIoxAZ

Important to bear in mind this is only a projection, and trendlines change with human effort and choices, but in this case the recent revisions have been upward--the world should work to change that.

This is one of the lower estimates and yes obviously depends on many things including various natural constraints. There are also higher estimates and as as time goes on all of them have been adjusted upwards.

All the same for them to fall away significantly either TFR needs to fall or life expectancy will. Given the population of Africa was 100 million just over a century ago and it it set to double by 2050, that would be an increase of 2500% in 150 years.
