Peter Jackson is a lib and his vision of Tolkien is a lib's: He got the aesthetics (though that was more Alan Lee) but it's obvious from the movies (and explicit in his comments) that he found what made LotR itself was repellent to him

If Jackson was making those movies today, the Rohirrim would all be black, and the men of Gondor, Turks (it's Byzantium, you see)

I thought Jackson wanted to be as true as possible to Tolkien's vision and did a pretty good job at that (compared to Hollywood standards at least). Do you have a source for his distaste for Tolkien's views?

Nolan himself would probably deny it - and in fact he may really be unaware, there's likely an unconscious inheritance of British conservative thinking - but The Dark Knight Rises is really one of the most right-wing Hollywood films in recent memory.
