And because either the writers can't think too far beyond the setting, or the producers don't want to pay new actors, "everybody sleeps with everybody" means the cast switches out partners, which is lazy, unconvincing, and gross.

Well said. I have one weakness, one soap that I seldom watch but turn off usually as dialogs are too primitive and boring. The "all'round sleep with everybody," I choose to think it's due to budget constraints, instead of intellectual constraints. Haha...

Maybe this is why they push LGBTQIXYZ so much, it increases the number of pairings immensely. If so expect a polyamory propaganda campaign next for exponentially increased lazy plot options

The "BBC model" used by American cable networks (The Shield, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead,etc) of c. 6-10 episode series runs guided by story and script as opposed to the American networks c. 20-24 episodes per year every year (House had 177 episodes over an 8 year run)...
