My heart is bursting. On the eve of my first child's birth, my dad - who's been in prison nearly my entire life - was granted clemency. He never intended harm, yet his crime devastated many families. My heart breaks for the families that can never get their loved ones back.

If prison is “rehabilitation” as so many like to call it then why wouldn’t anyone be happy for him to be leaving now? People would rather punish each other into oblivion than try to love them beyond their faults.

A fault is something like he chews with his mouth open, sometimes late paying bills, lazy, doesn’t say thank you. You think his ‘fault’ is that he murdered two cops ? What else did he do, that by in comparison, being a cop killer is not that bad. Your moral compass is broke
