Male circumcision is a recognized anti-HIV strategy in 3rd-world settings where the disease is prevalent and medical resources are limited. Risk of acquiring HIV from sexual partner is reduced substantially when foreskin (inner surface is a route of entry) is removed.

Hmm. Okay I read a paper in NCBI/NIH. Interesting. I am curious about the groups used for the study. If you studied third world countries where circumcision isn't common are the most important findings a bit slanted? But the science itself looks sound.

I'm most familiar with the anti-HIV program in Rwanda. The whole point of scale-up programs is that it is initiated in areas where male circumcision is not routine (it would not affect overall transmission rates if most men were already circumcised).
