If you read biographies of people from before 1900, you can often see the impact of the loss of siblings, children and of course the death of women in childbirth. For me, these changes are doubtlessly progress.

I look at the faces of people in those old photos, they all toiled, and lived hard lives - these were the ones who could afford the photos, and were educated to create biographies btw.

I got to be one of the few in 1989. Lost my 10 1/2 week old son to Neuroblastoma...cancer. I pray every day for children and parents who fight for their child’s life. One is too many
