Pretty disgusting world we have become where value has to be tangible don't you think? Do academics produce no value because you don't agree with their opinion? I'm not going to write a capitalist critique here but this kind logic bothers me.

Yes, many academics produce absolutely nothing of value, yet I am still forced to pay them at the point of a gun.

Education is the number one factor determining social mobility (muh American Dream) and you call it no value. That's the problem if you don't learn to think.

Seems to me there is a great deal of power and influence held by those in the first row of that chart, all decidedly "leaning" left.

In other words the intelligent and mostly educated individuals tend to care more about seeing their neighbors get ahead and thrive. Not a surprise.

By "get ahead and thrive" I assume you mean "be dependent on big government".
