Which is deeply unfortunate as the conservative movement once espoused personal responsibility as a core virtue that helped rationalize a system which served to elevate and protect broad individual freedoms, without it, it’s much harder to oppose imposed rules on personal conduct
The erasure of any sense of personal responsibility in the conservative movement is startling. Today everyone is a victim. The bigger the victim—the better the conservative. Eric is spot on here
