I don’t know Paul Ryan and don’t really care whether he is a “ good guy “or not. He is third in line to the Presidency. Why is he being infantized and talked about like he is the outgoing Rotary Club President. He failed to stand up for civility, decency and impt US institutions

I have always referred to the speaker as third in line behind incumbent POTUS and VPOTUS. What is the right way to say ? 2nd or 3rd.? Honestly don’t know

VP is first in line of succession. Speaker is second. I think POTUS is not included in the line cause he does not succeed himself if he leaves office (though a V.P. is sometimes Acting POTUS when POTUS has surgery.)
