The Arma lite Rifle model 15, or AR 15 is literally the M16. M16 is the designation given by the department of defense. It IS what they used in vietnam.

To be fair, it's the limited functionality version of a military weapon. But since, in terms of lethality, the ballistics of the 5.56mm bullet is as important as the fireing mode, and the gun can be made effectively full auto with a bump stock, that's not much of a difference...
