Even Scalia recognized this in Heller. This is a "simple" matter of line drawing. Where will we, as a society, draw the line between legal and banned weapons?
Since some categories of weapons are already banned under federal law it means more weapons can be added to that list. The AR-15, the weapon of choice for most mass shooters, is the semi automatic version of an M16 which is illegal to buy. Both are devastating weapons of war.

How do you convince fanatics and paranoids that they aren't in a war? Obviously they aren't interested in fighting tyranny.

Mr Schmidt- would you agree or disagree with the following g premise: private citizens have a right to own a revolver, a shotgun and a hunting rifle.. none semi auto. If you can’t hunt or defend yourself and home with aforementioned guns.. you should not own one

Also: Many of our most treasured constitutional rights are not absolute. Free speech has time, place, & manner restrictions. The right to be free from search & seizure is subject to warrants, etc. We can absolutely regulate guns without violating the constitution.
