I suppose it's nice that Trump and the Mercers have turned on Steve Bannon. But Trump and the Mercers made it possible for Bannon to infuse alt-right bigotry and illiberal authoritarianism into the mainstream of American politics, and for that they shouldn't be easily forgiven.
How about never forgiven. What they have done to this country and our politics is contemptible.
