In all the years I worked in GOP politics, from local races to the White House it never occurred to me that it was even remotely possible that there were people sitting in rooms with me that would one day be in favor of overturning a Presidential election and making the loser

America’s first dictator. I have warned about this danger for many years, yet I remain flabbergasted by this moment. We now know who has crossed the rubicon. We cannot unlearn who those people are. This is a photo of the American Cemetary in Normandy. Each grave facespic.twitter.com/XR891vDuL8

West, towards home. The home they never got to go back to. They died so we could live in freedom. They were mostly young men with their whole lives ahead of them. What would they say about this? Don’t let anyone tell you for a second that signing an Amicus brief is no big

Deal. It is a monumental event. It is a declaration of repudiation. A repudiation of American democracy and our birthright to pick our leaders. They are attempting to impose the fired President on the people who fired him. We have never seen anything like it and that is

disorienting. Yet, we do know what to call this. Don’t we? What would we call this in Germany or France? Trump has let the demons loose. We will be fighting them for decades. There is no certainty about what side will win. Should ours lose let there be no lack of certainty

About what will be lost. America will be lost and all the assembled generations of Americans watching from heaven will weep. The light of American liberty will have been extinguished.

All who signed ABSOLUTELY need to suffer the consequences for their actions. Sedition WILL NOT be tolerated. Refuse the seating of every single one of them. File charges against them.

Thank you for taking the time and opening your heart to post this. I’m a Canadian, but to see your once great nation turn into a banana republic is heartbreaking.

I am a left of center Democrat in terms of policy but in terms of fundamental American political values no one expresses my values better than Schmidt, Rubin and Kristol. Keep it up. We can fight about policy after we recover our country from the anti-American MAGA Mob

My Grandad suffered from horrific survivor guilt after Normandy. I was well into my own service to this nation before finding out what took place for him that day. My Granny was his nurse in France and that's where they fell in love. 💞

My father was deeply affected by his service in Europe. He helped liberate a death camp. He would never speak of it and destroyed all the photos he had from there. But I saw them first. Mass open graves. Hundreds of bodies. I’m glad he didn’t live to see this now. He would cry.

Why do people on the right assume those of us on the left are pacifists? Like we would just sit back and be like “Dang. The SCOTUS just overturned the election for Trump.”

This began w/ Reagan and all his dog whistles (welfare queens, jungle streets, etc), destroyed safety net, rollback environmental protections, disrespect of govt. & devolved to Trump.. Who helped all this, Steve?
