In all the years I worked in GOP politics, from local races to the White House it never occurred to me that it was even remotely possible that there were people sitting in rooms with me that would one day be in favor of overturning a Presidential election and making the loser

America’s first dictator. I have warned about this danger for many years, yet I remain flabbergasted by this moment. We now know who has crossed the rubicon. We cannot unlearn who those people are. This is a photo of the American Cemetary in Normandy. Each grave facespic.twitter.com/XR891vDuL8

West, towards home. The home they never got to go back to. They died so we could live in freedom. They were mostly young men with their whole lives ahead of them. What would they say about this? Don’t let anyone tell you for a second that signing an Amicus brief is no big

Deal. It is a monumental event. It is a declaration of repudiation. A repudiation of American democracy and our birthright to pick our leaders. They are attempting to impose the fired President on the people who fired him. We have never seen anything like it and that is

disorienting. Yet, we do know what to call this. Don’t we? What would we call this in Germany or France? Trump has let the demons loose. We will be fighting them for decades. There is no certainty about what side will win. Should ours lose let there be no lack of certainty

About what will be lost. America will be lost and all the assembled generations of Americans watching from heaven will weep. The light of American liberty will have been extinguished.

I think calling it "attempted coup" is accurate. And the perpetrators should be punished as in other countries. Severely. Very severely - for the good of the nation & what remains of our democracy.

Imagine for a moment that the Military intervenened and arrested the SCOTUS and declared that Trump could stay as President. What would Trump do? I think we all know he would say "Thank you very much" . Thats why "attempted coup " is accurate.

Steve, I've been around for seven decades, the erosion has been constant, Viet Nam exacerbated the decline, Eisenhower gave us the warning, few responded. Now the Trump situation, is way over the top, who could of imagined this degree of insanity, it must never be normalized.

How can we lose? Come Jan 20, 2021, if Trump doesn't leave, he will not have the country that existed just the day before. The rule of law would be dead. Black people are not going back. We may not have unified policy yet for addressing #PoliceBrutality, but prove to us voting

You know you don't generally have problems with your party leader "letting your demons loose" if you don't fill your party with demons to pad your numbers, just saying.

29 years and nine months ago I registered to vote and became a member of The Republican Party which was founded in 1854 to oppose slavery and stand for the dignity of human life. Today I renounce my membership in the Republican Party. It is fully the party of Trump.
