Middle East scholar Juan Cole @jricole warned from the beginning that Iraq would be a disaster. Goldberg challenged Cole to bet $1000 on whether Iraq would be a success. Cole found it horribly offensive that Goldberg wanted to bet money on the fate of millions of human beings.
