Happened if that great moment of testing had coincided with a degenerate Presidency like Trump’s? What would have happened if dishonesty, indecency, selfishness, depravity and all of Trump’s pathologies and defects were celebrated as virtuous as they are on his propaganda (4)
Networks? What would have happened if one American political party was deeply invested in conspiracy theories and rejected science and data? What would have happened if we had a President like Trump who lacks the moral, mental and intellectual fiber to lead? Thank God we didn’t.

Someone like Trump doesn't just happen in a vacuum. We have to ask ourselves how did we come to a place where someone like Trump isn't just elected but revered? Don't ever forget how much support he has for what he does and says.

I’m watching for the second time the Ken Burns series about the Roosevelts. It’s amazing what an intelligent, emotionally stable president can accomplish. I can’t tell yet if it’s making me feel better or worse.
I shudder at the prospect.
