Yes. It is a "payback" for the collapse of Soviet Union. Their strategic objectives are: (1) Destruction of NATO, (2) Disintegration of EU, (3) Death by a thousand cuts for US. With minimum investment and useful idiots in Washington, Putin seems to have played his hand well.
