  Why not have “tax equivalent” options like paying college tuition for deserving students? Or funding homeless shelters? The wealthy would like it because there would be room for loopholes and directly paying is more efficient than paying govt - then govt does the funding.

  As long as there's no wealth tax? I lost interest in Gates's opinions on tax policy when he blurted out his actual thoughts about Elizabeth Warren's proposals. In honesty, I'd rather hear the thoughts on taxes of anybody poor than of someone with $100 billion. Tax him, already.

  Agree on all of this, but we need to start immediately closing abused loopholes. No rich person should pay a lower effective tax rate than someone with a lower income. Labor income shouldnt be taxes at a higher eff rate than inv income. Its un-American
