Let’s try and do something rare on twitter and have a civil and honest conversation ? Hope you are game. First, please watch what I said. I praised her. I didn’t attack her. My attack was on what I called dishonest progressivism which is not an attack on progressivism.https://twitter.com/rokhanna/status/1012414571733291008 …

I think we should all try and be civil. I'm independent and like some liberals. But when people start talking about "free" stuff. There is no free stuff. It's got to be paid by someone. We may agree that it's a needed benefit, but it's not free.

I think it would be helpful to have some of these conversations BUT at the same time rather than both sides constantly just saying CANT, perhaps we can discuss a path for things to CAN and then decide if the tradeoffs are worth it to get there.

Thanks for the tone. Politely disagree but very happy to engage in civil policy debates. Well done! (From a coastal elite lib).

You mean you want an honest discussion of differing opinions? Wow, haven't heard much of that in over 10 years! I miss seeing governance in action, so would love to see it at least on twitter

Wow, an attempt at thoughtful conversation. I am a skeptical Berniecrat Steve -- I think the progressive agenda can move our country forward, but you're right, it's gotta be paid for. And yes, it should all be measured and held to the highest accountability.

Personally, I feel that if we can hand out money (that we really can't afford) to corporations and the wealthy then we should invest in the health and well being of our citizens that actually do carry the burden in this country.

We most certainly shouldn't be adding to our debt during boom times if we want to preserve these services and help the economy in the bear times -- and the GOP tax cuts have done that.
