I can see the point @SteveSchmidtSES was making. These have a high appeal but low chance of success, but does that mean these aren’t ideals that should be considered?pic.twitter.com/3TUhrigbFb

I think that’s right Steve. If you look at #Seattle and how we tried to reach this and what has happened you have a perfect test case. However, I do think there are principles here that are worth embracing to include giving marginalized voters a voice.
Of course. When 40 percent don’t have $ 400 and there has been no wage growth in 25 years we have a problem big enough to stabilize our political system. My point isn’t to question the good intentions of people who have a progressive solution it is to ask how can we pay for it
Politicians treat the American people as children who can’t handle to hear hard truths.
Tax the rich for a change.
The answer is 70% marginal tax rate on income in excess of (arbitrarily) $500k, Mabe 50% on income over $250k. Below that, current rates are fine. Too many people believe the nonsense that a "70% tax" means the govt takes 70% of total income. One of the biggest GOP misdirects.
Getting all of these things for Americans is a moral issue for me.
We are ready . We just need a leader we can trust and a leader who loves this beautiful country.
Healthcare is 18% of GDP. We pay 2X's as much as other industrialized nations for healthcare but with pretty much the same outcomes. That's trillions. Also 70% marginal tax rates have worked in the past. Why charge high tax rates to the uber rich? That's where the money is.
