Trump isn’t Hitler and these children’s Internment camps aren’t Birkenau but they are immoral. The gas chambers at Birkenau had flower boxes and the selection process was designed to keep the doomed calm. Classical music played and people were told they were going to the showershttps://twitter.com/michikokakutani/status/1008088945543008256 …

It doesn't matter who you compare Trump to - a tyrant is a tyrant. Hitler did not start by promising genocide. He appealed to fear and made people blame "the others" for their lot in life. It escalated slowly until it could not be stopped.

I think #45 has been pretty clear about his intentions the same way Hitler always was.

Garden of beasts is an excellent book. Clearly shows how Germany fell to Hitler, step by step. And how the people let it happen.

With all due respect Mr Schmidt, even if you don’t think he is like Hitler because he is being opaque about his intent, his policy advisors are pretty clear about theirs and he endorses these policies which will take us to a very dark place if we remain complacent

I can live with the Mussolini comparison. Especially if it ends the same way for Trump.

Not true, he became more deranged as he went along. Never take sociopathy for granted. The greater the pressure, the less stable they become. Haven’t noticed that on Trump, yet?

It seems to me that Trump was pretty clear about his intent...

You don't see the comparison between telling parent that their children are being taken to bathe & hitlers telling people they were going to the showers to bathe? Not saying the
dictator is anywhere near executing people but his use of similar terminology is sending a 1/ -
message to white supremacists, neo nazis that he's supporting them. He's being very intentional in the wording he is using. Remember he is the king of branding. He's branding to his base I'm with you, these brown people are animals and need to be hated. For us 2/

Those who don't learn from history are bound to repeat it. Thank you for being one of the handful of conservatives speaking truth to power and putting
