Agreed. There's a great depth of distance between where the Democrats currently stand and where are Trump stands. Democrats don't need to go down to his level, but they damn well need to start landing some gut punches.
The greatest actor of his generation could have said something important. He could have defended liberal democracy or freedom of speech and expression. He could have stood for Decency.
