With regard to Ted Cruz’s demagoguery and his use of the military as a political prop I wonder what @sethmoulton might have to say. I’m thinking he might have a point of view about the ideas and ideals our flag represents
These people like Cruz have no idea what true sacrifice is...no idea at all...but the time will come where they will be forced to learn what it is...it always does

Patriotism means personal sacrifice for a greater good. Standing for a war song about a flag in Baltimore harbor is not patriotic. It's a volunteered courtesy, like holding the door open for the person behind you. No personal sacrifice involved.
