Good news --> the Right to Try Act just passed the House and is now on the way to @POTUS's desk to become law! This important legislation gives terminally ill patients the ability to try potentially life-saving medicines.pic.twitter.com/rpTO64cuIy

This is an effort to circumvent and weaken the FDA while offering vulnerable patients treatments that are not evidence-based medicine.

@SteveScalise SteveScalise This is a start, but much more needs to be done, not only in medicine but also granting families more power to deal with members who won't take their meds! Also the Psychiatric Asso. needs to be more accountable about their patients!

Praise God! For those critics, until you’ve watched loved ones suffer, holding out hope only to pass away leaving their young children without a parent, please stop. You can hate the GOP all you want, but why would you not want ppl to seek treatment w/o gov’t control? Mean.

I think what they are referring to is clinical trials that have not been approved yet. They can try those medications if they have run out of all other options.

Most likely but we need access to alternative medical treatments, especially for our children. Toxic pharmaceutical treatments are a huge reason people are put in this position in the first place.

As the son of a mother with MS for 30 years, I fully support this. My parents spent a good part of their retirement paying for “experimental” drugs to slow it only to have it become customary. Then once it was standard treatment, she still got no help #preexistingcondition
