Louisiana @Walmart employees will be taking home a combined $13.7 million in bonuses today.http://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/news/business/article_dbc60a18-22ed-11e8-b53f-479dc09dae65.html …

If this isn’t happening every year like the tax breaks now are, then this is theater. It’s a show to make people feel better about supporting a tax deal that will accelerate the gap between the rich and the poor at alarming speeds.

Most of this money went to managers. Very little went the folks you see stocking shelves, working on holidays, etc. and it’s absolutely meaningless to the folks who are making billions off this tax cut, who do little to no work on a daily basis.

Steve Scalise’s vision of the future is the wealthy living in protected enclaves surrounded by armed guards, while the poor are deprived of education, healthcare, and dignity. What side of that wall do y’all really and truly think you’ll be on?

The title of your article is condescending ‘Walmart hands out $13.7 million in combined bonuses to Louisiana workers’ It’s earned by American Citizens—NOT a ‘hand out’ like the Tax Sham you passed

Amen! People actually worked for all of this. They should have gotten it in their paychecks, not a random bonus payout for PR!

Per Walmart’s website, there are 37,063 associates in Louisiana, so $13.7 million would mean an average one time bonus of about $370 per person, before taxes. While it may pay a bill or two, relative to how much richer the stockholders are getting, these are pretty much crumbs.

Raising the wage to $11 literally is crumbs and if you don’t understand how much money the wealthy are hoarding from you and all of us who work for a living I suggest you read up. It’s appalling, and you should be angry.
