Mr Scalise, I'm guessing you were treated w/opioids after your shooting to manage your pain. I'm also guessing you didn't become addicted..most patients don't. Imagine that pain 24/7 for the rest of your life w/o adequate relief. This is happening to millions bc of govt overreach

Great point, the politicians aren't subject to the same laws, guidelines, policies, and suffering as the citizens of this country. I would like to know where I can get info on politicians who use opioids or used opioids since the inception of the "guidelines".
-
Wouldn’t that be awesome information to have?!
-
Our Pet’s VETERINARIANS actually are able to see the patient drug database that is supposed to be only available to pharmacists & physicians. This has been privately confirmed as no vet is going to admit this publicly for fear of the DEA! Perhaps we should ask our veterinarians!
-
One of my dearest friends is a veterinarian. He confirmed this to me. If you have a DEA prescription #, you can see anyone’s DEA Profile.
-
And then your pet suffers since they won't prescribe pain meds for your pet if you are on them. This is inhumane, not just for us, but for our furry friends.

Did you refuse opioids while in the hospital or recovery? If not, did you become addicted? STOP HARMING INNOCENT PATIENTS! Because of gov overreach, cancer and terminal patients are now denied pain control. WTF is wrong with those of you in DC?
-
If he was injured now, would he even receive pain meds?most painful operations, no ppain meds Accept Pain is rubbish I hear
-
And yes...I am one of many who can fill the elites in on how it feels to have painful surgeries without proper pain control in post op recovery, and absolutely NO pain control at home.
-
Stop! Just stop. There is no legislation you can pass that will "Help". Your hysterical response belongs to the FENTANYL EPIDEMIC. I hear nothing from Congress about the real crisis.
-
U can't legislate away a brain condition. Ppl R born predisposed 2 the disease of addiction which has nothing 2 do w/the substance. You can eradicate every opiate off the earth & the person w/addiction will find another substance 2 abuse. Why don't they study this & understand?
-
I agree. If nothing else is available some will sniff gasoline! Addiction is neither well understood or treated. I also believe there are varying degrees of addiction.W/o drug of choice present some DO stop! But, not many. Most turn to alcohol. It is still a mystery.?

Are you aware that: Vets are killing themselves b/c the VA cut off their pain medication? Seniors are canceling joint replacement surgeries b/c hospitals won't give pain medication? Parents are unable to support their families b/c they lost their pain medication and can't work?
-
Are you aware that: Pharmacists are overriding doctors who have been safely treating chronic pain patients with pain medications for years? The majority of opioid-related ODs are recreational users who buy on the street and mix pills with alcohol and other meds?
-
Are you aware that: Chronic pain patients are being forced onto highly addictive and expensive "withdrawal" drugs after being denied their pain medications? Please investigate and consider the points I have raised when drafting/signing legislation. Thank you.
-
I suffer chronic pain. For years I have had some semblance of a life by using opioids for pain. Without them even lying in bed would be painful. I take the correct dose and do not abuse. I am so afraid that I will lose the right to these meds.

People are abusing someone elses prescription. It's not the patient who is Rx it that is abusing or overdosing. The majority is illicit use. Try to use better terminology as to not add even more stigma to Millions of Americans who have a medical necessity for pain medication.
-
And even then, most of the opioids abused aren't Rx opioids. Most ODs are from illicit opioids of fentanyl & heroin.
-
What a lot of people don't know, because it's not common knowledge or out there is that a lot of pills that people were buying on the streets were not someone else's meds, they were pills stolen in drug store robberies.
-
The
@DEAHQ certainly knows this and is still on the bandwagon w@CDCgov &@WhiteHouse with contributing to the false narrative of Rx used by patients are causing the#heroinnotrxcrisis They all know the#truth but neglect to acknowledge it, which in turn harms us even more.
