I put tonight's Irish Times opinion poll into a forecast model and it had SF & FF tied on 39 seats. SF failing to run 2nd candidates in Cork NC, Dublin Central & SC, Laois-Offaly, Sligo-Leitrim, Waterford & Wicklow costing them on avg 4 seats & being biggest party.

For four years under Tony Blair's government I worked for the Daily Mail. His No10 absolutely hated us - you might say justifiably - and yet we were never banned from any briefing involving civil servants under his government, ever.

The Govt has sent many mixed messages to EU/EEA & Swiss citizens. Now we have a message: . All 94,000 square miles across England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland. So and I are going on a tour to take that message to our communities. Come join us.

How does it feel to be a stenographer for No.10? Perhaps you could do some actual journalism. Maybe do an investigation into sexual harassment, for example?

What have we learnt from UK & EU today - not all that much new. But contrary to much of last phase, both sides on the same page about end goal – a fairly standard FTA. But there are key points of difference, some bridgeable others more difficult. A thread on my personal views 1/

My last word on this - I felt deeply uncomfortable being left to stand on one side of the room while colleagues' names were read out one-by-one and they joined the group who were deemed "acceptable" by No 10. Sinister and sad.

PM: “it’s not a question of deal or no deal. We have a deal.” That is disingenuous. We have a divorce agreement. We don’t have a trade deal. Without an agreement at the end of the year, we would have nearly the most basic trading relationship with the EU in Europe.

PS I have been in the Westminster Lobby for over thirty years (since before you wer born) and am a former Lobby Chairman. I have never heard of an "inner lobby". This takes blatant attempts to divide and rule to a new level. So please don't lie.

This was when he was interviewed immediately after me (by ) on immigration policy. I told him to his face afterwards that he should stop repeating this claim, since it was false. He spluttered and said - absurdly of course - that "we looked at the numbers".

Sir Iain Duncan Smith said on the Today programme that only 15% of people in the UK who start work at entry level rise above that level during their working life. He claimed this was the worst figure in the developed world. Both claims are incorrect.
