if one has both the flu and covid (or pneumonia and covid), do they really categorize *both* cases separately, or just count the 1 person as a covid-case? how is it normally done, with 2 sets of overlapping symptoms?
-
If they happen to have tested for both, and both come back positive, they'll mark you as both. But these days nobody much minds getting the flu, so I doubt most people bother to test for it. If you get a cough and fever, with a negative covid test, they'll probably just assume.

@rogman99 can you decipher this info and see what’s going on?

I’ll take a look here in a few. Off the top, flu cases should be down due to the mitigation efforts RE: COVID19. If folks are wearing masks, socially distancing, and getting their flu shots; this makes complete sense.

Their reply: Fewer cases because of lockdowns, social distancing and masks... all a set up for semi-permanent mask wearing.
-
I'm pro-mask right now, but if mask mandates continue after mass vaccination, I'm going to make a point of coughing on politicians. I might use them when I'm actively ill with a cold in future, but mandates? Hell no.

That's not a "statistical anomaly," it's entirely explainable. If people are wearing masks, not physically going to work, and/or generally not maskless in indoor locations where spread would normally be more likely.. there will be less flu spread.
