After internment camps, comes keeping the press and public in the dark, then exploration and experimentation on those interred, then death. We've all seen this before Our eyes are open, our eyes are open. Our eyes are open, our eyes are open...wide Wide WIDE

I don't think
@SteveKingIA knows the South lost the war. -
He knows, he just doesn't like it! Which is why he sports a confederate flag on his desk in DC

Um... your historical comparisons suck. A) Harper's Ferry was attacked by Northerners in what was then Virginia; the PDX ICE office was shut down by Portlanders B) the South had been threatening to rebel for 50+ years before the Civil War; the Pacific Northwest... not so much
-
C) it's pretty clear which side you wish won the Civil War so whatever...pic.twitter.com/KKmDqaooga

You mean Harpers Ferry, where the seeds of abolition received the heat needed to spark the Civil War & the emancipation of millions of humans from the scourge of slavery that is still our nation's great shame? John Brown's body lies a-mouldering in the grave, but we see you.
-
I live in Harpers Ferry, and we’re pretty damned proud of that history. Hopefully we won’t need another John Brown to course-correct this madness. The big difference is that the enemies of the Union have the white house, and include Steve King.
-
You should be proud, he deserves as much credit for ending slavery as Lincoln.
-
One could go so far as to argue that for Lincoln and the Union government, emancipation was a strategic political and economic move, made as much for advantage in the war as it was for any humanitarian or moral purpose; while Brown’s position was clearly one of principle.
-
not to diminish the result of the emancipation, but one does have to admire the commitment and passion of John Brown, even if his path was in occasion a violent one.
-
While not preferred if possible, some times violent action is needed to bring change to such wrongs. As Kennedy said, "those who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable."

Seems the irony is lost. The point is that all us who aren’t First Nations descendants are immigrants. We forget we all come from somewhere else. Perhaps not the best meme to make my point

As long as we're looking ahead to another civil war, have you already picked out a dress to wear while fleeing your capital in disguise?
