This is like something from a failed nation state desperate to prevent its own disintegration. Oh... wait...

Never promote overwork. It's not a sign of passion or dedication, it's misguided & deeply unhealthy.

Maybe stop calling folk 'climate doomsayers' and start explaining how you're going to get governments to *do what is needed*?

I left Stirling Uni way back in '86, but I still get heart-wrenching homesickness when I see great pics like this. What an amazing place to live.

The United States dedicated 40% of GDP to winning World War II. The climate crisis threatens to destroy human civilization at its current scale. Joe Manchin wants us to spend less than 0.5% of GDP over 10 years to fight it. That will doom millions to unnecessary deaths.

It's interesting to think that one of the main sources of horror about the Fair Folk, their contracts and agreements that inevitably fuck you over, is now ubiquitous in modern life.

Really great thread on the anatomy of an autistic meltdown. Please read it. Empathy flows from understanding.

Here's a way to gauge any thing coming out Biden's/Garland's mouth w/r/t the Texas abortion ban: DOES IT STOP OR DISSAUDE FLORIDA FROM DOING THE SAME THING? If "no" then the response is useless. Texas is an EXAMPLE either for "how to take away rights" or for "what happens Larry"

Seriously though the most meaningful change in climate rhetoric would be shifting the discussion from costs of action to costs of inaction.

You can obtain a legal abortion in Iran easier than you can now obtain an abortion in Texas. Stop bringing up Sharia. Sharia allows for abortions. The word you're looking for is "fascism"

The duplicity of Privately stays in frequent contact with Gov Abbott, praising his reactionary policies Abbott then uses Musk to defend his draconian abortion ban Musk responds publicly by claiming he stays “out of politics”

I think we're pretty close (or past) the point where, even if Dems did issue federal rules regarding abortion, voting, or climate change, many GOP-controlled states would openly defy them. Then Dems would have to decide whether to send federal troops to enforce them.
