Driving standards everywhere are abysmal. Unfortunately driving is no longer enjoyable or safe for many motorists. We don't have a road network which is adequately maintained by local authorities, who see motorists as cash cows to exploit at every opportunity.

Wholehearted agree with the sentiment, but I suspect people who follow specific individual car journalists on Twitter aren’t particularly representative of the wider driving public..! i.e. there’s probably a good chance we are actually much better drivers, on average!

I travel a lot on m6, m42 a43, m3 and m1 visiting daughters and agree with you driving is a lot worse than when I started driving 40 years ago. I struggle with middle lane hoggers, should I undertake (illegal) or move from lane 1 to 3 to overtake?
