I got notice via form letter today that , Ontario's Environment Minister, sees no merit in concerns I raised in public consultations for and stations. But I thought I should put my notes on the public record.

The very best part, however, is that they conclude by assuring me they will see if "there are any additional measures that can be implemented in order to help deter pedestrians from crossing when they are not supposed to."

Six years ago I was angry about being crowded out of the subway (and 15 lbs heavier). Then I learned that commuting by bike is cheaper, faster, more reliable, fun and good for my overall mood. Once I learned to dress for it, I discovered I love winter riding, too

Starting to cycle 8km to work came at a time when my personal life stress level was maxed out. Biking gave me a sense of freedom, made me stronger - happy & exhilarated - like a bird flying through the streets.

Two or three years back I was on a Bloor-Danforth train next to a couple somewhat older than me. The guy was saying they needed to stop at a bank machine before they got downtown and the woman was saying that wasn't necessary: "You can just put it on your Chargex card!"

The impetus for real change has to come from politicians. There are many, many smart transit people at + , but for now they're afraid to speak truth to power, at least publicly. I'm close to retirement age and the temptation is to give in, but I won't.

I raised concerns about a dangerous intersection around a certain construction site. The reply says "Pedestrian safety is a top priority" followed by an explanation that the (unsafe) signal arrangement "was implemented to help ease significant congestion and motorist confusion."

Indeed. Instead of asking for wall funding from the U.S. House of Representatives, needs to get on a plane to Mexico City and make his case before the Cámara de Diputados. The President promised Mexico would gladly pay and Americans should hold him to his word.

The expected wait time when I entered the hold loop was 47 minutes. Congratulations ... you just exceeded expectations. Can customers bill for their time?

The debts and deficits we pass on to descendants take on many forms other than the simple bottom line. It's not even really a left or right thing.

Don't know what's more irritating, the hold music or the repetitive and disingenuous message: "Thank you for continuing to hold; your call is important to us." Wish me luck.

Not only did the Finns play a smart, disciplined game, their country perennially gives hockey another badly needed contender in a shallow pool of national teams. And, let's not forget that, at 5.5 million people, does it with a million fewer people than Greater Toronto.

In the mid-1980s, a senior manager conceded that the had left TTC clueless about how many 'linked trips' were being made each day. That's another reason why the choice of @Presto was so bad. We need a fare-collection system that yields key data, and they exist.

Aside from the fact Mitch Marner is among the three or four most entertaining players in the league, he's No. 6 in the league scoring race. How is that not an ?

Absolutely beautiful video created using still images taken by the Cassini spacecraft during its flyby of Jupiter and while at Saturn. Shown is Io and Europa over Jupiter's Great Red Spot and then Titan as it passes over Saturn and it's edge-on rings. NASA/JPL/Kevin M. Gill
