Bus to the office today means I get to walk around PDX …and kept thinking the city should make parking free after 5 and from 5pm Friday to Monday morning (free transit to dtown on weekends as well) to encourage folks to support the businesses downtown.

They say it’s 23%. It’s not. It’s a 30% national sales tax.
Let’s say you spend $100 on goods.
Their tax would add 30% more, for $130 total.
$100 is 77% of $130, so they’re trying to say it’s a 23% increase.
