Isn't part if the problem the people funding productions. Don't they need to fund productions by a more diverse group. If the the films arwent made, how does one nominate them?

I worked for a talent agency in NYC and she for a little while at least voted for a few categories of the Oscars as well. She filled me in on the process of all the awards.

Diversity starts with executives reizing that the "safe" option ruins the industry in the long run, and being willing to embrace a wider range of ideas in the industry without immediately refusing to fund everything that doesn't fit a certain mold.
