Only surprising thing about the idiotic “recall Boudin” effort is that his haters from Day 1 waited a whole year. Their campaign is just a reaction to @chesaboudin commitment to dismantling racist practices & making our legal system more fairhttps://www.sfexaminer.com/news/chesa-boudin-responds-to-critics-in-first-state-of-justice-address/ …

Do you genuinely believe that the families of murder victims who are now speaking out against Chesa can be reduced to that motivation? There are real, nuanced issues happening in our district, and as our representative I would love to see you take these seriously.

I work on these issues every day, Ryan, but my tweet addressed the recall effort, which is not about public safety, it’s about opposition to criminal justice reform. Do you support the recall effort?

Of course many of them oppose CJ reform — but there are many families who are victims of terrible tragedies that they believe were directly / indirectly caused by the DA’s policies. It sounds good on Twitter to attribute it all to racism, but it’s not true.

Twitter is a poor medium for policy debate, but: criminal justice reform that does not negatively impact public safety. Strengthening parole structure + accountability, transparency into data (repeat offenders rates, etc.), increase SFPD arrest rate (majority go unsolved).

You realize that when he mentions arrest rates he’s talking about serious crimes being solved right?
