Countdown to something absolutely terrible happening in a Starbucks bathroom starts right now.http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2018/05/11/starbucks-schultz-bathrooms-open/ …

Here in Japan, everyone in the store is treated like a customer, whether they are paying or not. Someone who isn’t paying now might have paid before and might be a customer in the future. If you embarrass a person, or kick them out, they definitely won’t.

The US isn't Japan. You have a somewhat homogeneous population who have respect for custom, rules, and authority. We are rapidly sinking into chaos here in the states.

You think that people can’t be trusted to use a bathroom because the culture is racially heterogeneous? Also, Japan is much less homogeneous than you would think and is becoming less homogeneous all the time.

Does Japan have the levels of drug usage and mental illness we have in the San Francisco Bay Area?

Most Starbucks bathrooms that I have been in are small -- a single room without a stall. It is private, but not anonymous enough to offer a comfortable experience for the average intravenous drug user. There are much better locations for such activities.

Attention all junkies. No more slumming it and shooting up in dingy gas station bathrooms. Head to Starbucks and get high with the hipsters. No purchase required!

Agreed. By caving to the angry pc mob, they’ve set themselves up for something far worse. I’ll bet law enforcement is called to investigate something strange before the summer is over.

I don't even like coffee, but I know where to go now, if I need to go. Still being a gun free zone, it may not be safe.
