Are you saying not to notice that the suicide rate for men starting point was 4x higher than for women & it continued to climb? HuffPo is not saying that the lives of men are less important than women?

-
It stated that the climb for women was higher then men, which is wasn't
-
It was though? It seems that the some groups of women went from ~5 => ~9 which is a ~80% increase. While men went from ~20 => ~26 which is only a ~30% increase.
-
The % of increase is a bad thing to look at. The real rate for men increased more. 20 to 26 is more human beings than 5 to 9. The rate went up by 4 People for women and 6 people for men. When discussing human lives the raw number is more significant than the change in %.
-
That being said, both increases are startling, grim, and tragic. More people in general offing themselves.

It's almost like the more often your demographic is called a monster and vilified unfairly by society, the more likely you are to not want to live anymore.

You have to adjust for the wage gap… because everything comes back to the wage gap.

It is what I predicted. Youth culture on steroids, no faith in anything, people losing meaning in life & dread getting older. Age & maturity have become anathema.

I think of it as akin to an immune system response. Without an immediate challenge, the body attacks itself.
