Could it be that the insects are just spreading diseases brought into the country by the criminal invaders from elsewhere?

As the climate warms and evaporation increases rain, the stagnant water in which they breed increases their populations, and so the rate at which they carry diseases. Increased viral population means greater odds of bad mutation. Seems straightforward working from climate change.

quote:- "The reason for the increase in diseases spread by mosquitoes largely has to do with the fact that people and goods are traveling and accessing different parts of the world more now than in the past." Precipitation did't increase much lately. It's immigration.

Narrowing a multivariate equation down to one factor is a core principle of climate change denial. How about we read some of the science that points to CC as one of the large contributing factors if not the lion's share in some diseases. @TakeThatEarthhttps://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/02/090205142203.htm …

but that's what you did, "narrowed a multivariate equation to one factor". "warmer, wetter climate"? How warmer, wetter it got in 2004-16? As you can see, the cases almost double from 2015 to 2016. Did the climate become so much warmer, wetter in 1 yr?https://www.cdc.gov/vitalsigns/vector-borne/infographic.html#graphic1 …

There was one identified in the article already. I pointed out that it's not the only factor and that a large one needs attention. Extreme one-day events are going up and sea level is rising as temperature goes up. Mosquitoes naturally respond to this by breeding.pic.twitter.com/WYppRkUHl0

Yes, GW will raise rates of insectbourne diseases. We cannot stop this, only slow down, and only a little. The question of migration remains key in any case. Migrants walking for hundreds of miles past tropical forests will inevitably collect multiple insect bites.

We've been unwilling to stop it, yes, especially in countries that aren't as affected by it - at least until now. Whether we've crossed a tipping point or not is a worrisome question. But 3rd world rural migrants who have to walk past rainforests to get to a city where they 1/2

need to earn enough for airfare will be way past the 3-14 day incubation period of mosquito-borne viruses by the time they're able to travel, if that ever happens. So increased mosquitoes in damper, warmer urban areas is still required for that vector to have any large effect.
