It's utterly bizarre to suggest raising the minimum age to purchase a rifle from 18 to 21, when you allow 17 year olds to join the military and 18 year olds to vote.

I vote to STOP sending 18-21 year olds into combat, if they cant drink alcohol or buy a firearm.

I agree adults between <21 are being discriminated against by the govt. We should stand up for this class of citizens to ensure no more of there human rights get eroded and the ones that have been violated get restored. In addition have the constitutional Suffrage conversation.

I do find some irony in a proposal that 21 is the “magic age” when one could both drink alcohol and buy a gun.

Also, at 18 years old, a lot of people are moving out on their own. Those people no longer have the right to defend their home. They are "sitting ducks".

Sadly, a lot of liberals are staying at home until they are much older so they just don’t get the whole “defend your castle” argument.

Youth were taught how to handle guns early on in this county and SHOULD be if they are in the home. They actually formed part of the militia. I'm finding out today NOBODY wants to discuss. People think you can pick and choose out of #2A what you want of it. @realDonaldTrump

In the 1950s, kids were taught about guns in school. Don’t recall any school shootings happening then, but that’s before my time so please correct me if I’m wrong.

Take this M16 & kill in the name of US Corp. I like this weapon platform where can I get a civilian version? Shucks, you can't have one. Oh, is it b/c I joined at 17 & have to wait until I can vote? No, b/c your not 21. wait, I can serve 4 yrs, go to war, get out and still can't?

Exactly. You could have an 18 year old Marine handling fully automatic weapons in a war zone. If he gets a hardship discharge he could back home at 19 and unable to own even a semi-auto.

We are going to raise the minimum age to purchase a gun to 21 and lower the voting age to 16 because... um.... because teens are so wise or... Rats, I'm confused.

Counterpoint: 1) in the US military you don't just get to carry your weapon with you whenever you want and do whatever you want with it 2) The voting age should be raised back to 21 to correspond to the drinking age. No problem with raising the gun ownership age to go with it.

Wamens should be drafted into the military, in times of war most wamens could "man" the domestic military bases and provide behind logistical & medical duties. The SJWs and the Rabid feminists can be sent to the front lines as cannon fodder in female only units.
