My own reading dropped dramatically when I got my first smart phone. It retrained my brain, attention span, something. Im ashamed.

Maybe it has to do with all the material given in schools is boring and students learn to affiliate reading with boredom. Imagine if H.G. Wells books were reading requirements in school. I certainly think more students would read. Yes - No????

I love my library, fiction, nonfiction, bible, federalist papers, practical, science, etc. Not subject to PC, power failure, EMP. I re-visit like old friends, and review and add friends regularly. A precious archive of bound paper in leather and a legacy to the future.

Have you looked at the new books out there. They are like social weapons. Most are poorly written. Read most of the classics. What there to read that is well written and not propaganda.

If they DO read, it may be the college standard "Race, Class and Gender" pg 14: "Objectivity, as found through reasonable thought, is a Western and masculine concept that we will challenge throughout this text." I'm thinking Pub Night probably ain't what it used to be.

And these are the same kids who want to impose
#disarmament on the country? Way too many are functionally illiterate. So they wouldn't understand the#Enlightenment if they had to read about it.#2A -
I am extremely fascinated by WWII. There's no way I could listen to as many stories as I have without reading. Armed conflict makes us know why an armed society can resist evil. But they will not read, learn or understand this.
