Is that why Japan has a high suicide rate, they're so happy about gun control?https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2017/05/30/national/social-issues/preventive-efforts-seen-helping-2016-saw-another-decline-suicides-japan-21897/#.WotHbYpOlDs …

Their culture is built around taking their own life instead of groups of other people like the great US of A.
-
So more dead people is better when it's done individually? When exactly did mass shootings become part of the US culture & WHY? I know I didn't grow up with it.
-
I don't think an ethical discussion about whether suicide is better than homicide is really relevant. As far as mass shootings, I've been hearing about them since Columbine.
-
So why did Columbine happen? What went wrong? What did society learn so it didn't happen again? I honestly don't know. Some say it was bullying, some say parents, gun access, video games, fame, sociopathy etc

So, if we are just inferring things here, am I to infer that you are ok with monthly mass shootings and don't think anything should be done?
-
You should have started with: "So you're saying", now the magic is alll gone in your reply.
-
As a more serious reply: I am myself for gun control, but let's be fair and see that in the 50's-70's you even have gun clubs at schools, yet no mass shootings as we have now.We have a culture problem in which the lack of responsibility taught to our children is littrally killing
-
It's as simple to me as following the logic of someone broken by physical or emotional pain. We have made it so easy for broken minds to obtain mass killing machines. We never stop talking about it, so it's constantly in their mind as an option.
-
I 'fully' agree. It's to me like the people blaming the additcion and not looking for why those people are addicted. These people want to escape/sedate/forget reality/pain/trauma. Taking the guns will help 'a bit' but you are not trying to solve it at the roots.

Japan also has a rigorous immigration process, a lot less people and are an extremely proud traditionalist zeno phobic society with a lot less criminals

And in the same breath will proclaim that we shouldn’t require a valid ID to vote in the US, because of its prejudicial nature...

no I think she’s just talking specifically about their gun laws isn’t she? seems quite clear to me. you can be for some things about an entity without endorsing everything about that entity can’t you?

FYI
@MiraSorvino In Hong Kong, China, 'guns' are rarely permitted at all. Unlawful possession of a 'gun' can merit a Life Sentence to hard labor. Is that what you want here in#USA ???? -
I'm sure she'd be fine with it
-
Yep. Sad.
