“Some districts in the US have recently employed a maximum IQ score for admission into the police force. The fear was that those who scored too highly would eventually find the work boring and leave.”http://www.independent.co.uk/news/education/the-iq-test-wars-why-screening-for-intelligence-is-still-so-controversial-a8179176.html …

People with high IQ's are more likely to develop PTSD when confronted with constant traumatization. Also are more likely to be free thinkers and to question authority.

You spelled "Bipolar and Autism" wrong. PTSD is a societal ill, this is not Shell Shock.

Easier to turn low IQ people into brutes, also easier to dupe "inside the box thinkers". Think Brownshirts. Remember Blue-eyes, Brown eyes school experiment? Fema camp guards.

One job interview asked me to take an IQ test as a term of employment. When I scored over 160 they never contacted me again! When you are smarter than your boss, they don't want to hire you.

If they got bored they would likely seek to move up in the field of their initial interest or a related field. Wouldn't things be better if the brightest were at the top or doing detective work?🧐

No Stefan. People with high I.Q.'s don't become bored, they are the first to become frustrated with cultural dysfunction. Basic Human Resources theory for multicultural organizations.

Police should have a minimum 4 year degree & be at least 30yrs old. Studies show educated officers are less likely to use force. Geezus, two steps forward...

One of my instructors in high school (90s) spoke of the phenomenon "mining silver." All the silver haired bastards that have to keep working due to the lack of qualified replacements. I don't think he imagined it would be this bad.
