Are you defending North Korea's vile concentration camps in an official capacity as Executive Director of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity? Or is defending murderous totalitarian regimes just something you do on weekends?https://twitter.com/DanielLMcAdams/status/962547090948804608 …

The Clintonian "third-party" electoral strategies using Libertarian Party and analogs in the United States had huge side effects on libertarianism, as they used a "drug strategy" to strengthen it. This is why we see the party change from intellectual rogues to pot-headed fools.
-
And, meanwhile, so-called 'conservatives'/Republicans continue acting like New Deal/Great Society Democrats who never met a war they didn't like.

Americans rejected liberty LONG ago. Libertarianism doesn't sell here for the same reason that it doesn't sell in Venezuela or Cuba: people here prefer the Nanny/Daddy State to freedom.
-
Libertarianism is not going anywhere, but not for the reason you said: It is unjust
-
Yeah, 'unjust', we just think everyone should be held to the same moral standards regardless of whether they have a fancy political title or not...

Libertarianism has a major capitalism problem. Left-libertarian anti-capitalist, anti-SJW and anti-PC is the way to go.
-
"Left-Libertarian" is an oxymoron.

Keep convincing yourself you're free while 8+hours of the day you have to do exactly as the Boss says. No that's not authoritarian at all.
-
Convince yourself. I’m not doing the "8 to 5" thing right now. Are you?

Libertarianism is a failed ideology from the get go. They advocate for freedom for all and responsibility for just those who want to be responsible. What could possibly go wrong

-
Um… no, they don’t. Where did you get that idea?
-
Um, yes they do. Advocate for legalization of all drugs, for one. It’s like Communism, but not really even good on paper.
-
Prohibition is a right-wing notion, and has nothing to do with libertarianism at all.
-
What’s the point then? Libertarians support decriminalization of drugs. That has always been a libertarian principle. Nothing to do with L or R. The idea was written about here, in 1875 (you can skip the long intro):https://mises.org/library/vices-are-not-crimes …
-
That is the point. Libertarians support this, and it’s stupid. It’s why it’s a failed from the get go ideology.
-
In contrast, look up The Portugal Experiment. Portugal decriminalized everything. Its drug problem did not increase significantly, but its incarceration rate is way down, its courts are no longer overloaded, costs are vastly reduced. There are other positive effects too.
