SNP normally stands for Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms. It's not a phenotype per se. It's just a difference of a single DNA building block (Nucleotide) within a certain stretch of DNA. SNPs can cause phenotypes.
-
"If I went to a crime scene and the detectives gave me some DNA, and from the DNA I isolated the SNPs and if it was discovered the criminal had a specific phenotype, I could predict the height of the criminal, plus or minus about 3 centimeters."

And it still really wouldn’t make a bit of difference in solving the case. Don’t start dismissing POI’s based on this or the right guy may slip through. It’s interesting but not that helpful, nor would be knowing the nationality.
