Graduated HS in May and went in the Navy Aug of that same year. Best fam in the world but breaking that dependence forces you into real world situations. You can be tried as an adult so might as well learn to act like one

They are burdened with much more debt and a very different job market and structure. Safety nets have been displaced as well. It's a complex problem.

My mother and father taught me in the school of hard knocks. I had to contribute to the household at age 16. Had to work to earn my keep. I was made to be goal oriented by example. I lost my dad a year ago, I sure do miss him. He made a man out of me. God bless.

In farm country it's fairly prevalent, especially if one of the parents is sickly, or unable to keep up with farm life. The death tax often puts an end to it, but that's life on the farm!
