Not reading the article but I'm going to guess "stop being fat" is am unacceptable solution.

I fly more than most. When seated near a fat person I keep the armrest down. If their fat rolls over the armrest onto me, I ask them politely to get out of my seat.

This person seems to think everything is a right except exercising, that's a sin!

I agree. I wish we could make the airline industry like the postal service. As in every time you fly across country say, it's $225 plus the weight you bring aboard (you included). Maybe the per lb price fluctuates with fuel costs 50-75c/lb.

when my jeans get tight, it motivates me to lose some weight. I don’t how going through all THIS isn’t motivating!

Yes. In America, there is a right to travel. It's called "Freedom of Movement," and is covered by the Privileges and Immunities Clause. And thank all of the gods that it is so.
